Testimonials
Customer satisfaction is very important to Root and Branch. We take pride in our work and this results in a high number of regular customers who trust us to carry out the services they need with skill and professionalism, at a reasonable price. We frequently get calls from friends and colleagues of existing customers, who have recommended us to them.
"I have employed the services of Tom and his team at Root and Branch Trees on two occasions now. In total they have dealt with twelve trees for me at what I consider to be a very reasonable price.
They were knowledgeable, polite, and friendly and worked quickly, skilfully and efficiently to clear four fallen trees, and to fell, cut and remove eight further trees. Additionally, they cleaned up very effectively afterwards, leaving the garden neat and tidy.
I’m very happy indeed with the work they’ve done for me and would have absolutely no hesitation in engaging them for further work.
I doubt that you’d find a better service."

"We unreservedly recommend Tom McMahon and his team of tree surgeons.
The trees in our garden - ash, sycamore, maple and the hedgerows of elder, hazel, hawthorn etc. - had become so tall and spread so widely that the garden was almost entirely in shade. We loved the trees but something had to be done.
Tom McMahon was recommended as a tree surgeon who was empathetic and in touch with environmental issues, so, after an initial assessment and a fair quote, we asked him to carry out the work.
At every stage he worked around our sensitivities and consulted and gave advice, based on his obvious championship of trees and the wildlife that they sustain.
He and his colleague Gary worked with great skill, in all weathers, up trees and on the ground. Without being asked, they recognised and retained the various ornamental shrubs that they found growing by the hedges. Everything was done safely with their specialist professional equipment. They cleared up as they went along, at our request leaving the logs on site, in neat piles and the chippings too which we are already using in the garden.
A week later we have hedgerows under control, large trees elegantly crownlifted and light flooding into the house and garden. The team went above and beyond to achieve this and for that we thank them."

"We would like to say a big thank you for the professional way in which you dealt with our trees last week. In truth when we applied for quotes we just knew we wanted the height reduced, but you took the time to explain that pollarding them as we had previously had done had resulted in the profusion of straight shoots rocketing skyward, making them look more like a hedge. You were not the cheapest quote but your obvious expertise and knowledge was the deciding factor. On the day with you as the eyes and the brawn and Gary providing the artistic pruning and skill to take the cuts to the appropriate growing points, we were delighted to see we had well shaped trees once more. You were both a pleasure to have around, left everything clean and tidy and we thank you for your patient unhurried approach. You will always be our first port of call for future works and have no hesitation in recommending you to others."

"We called Tom and team in to clear the very overgrown site we inherited with our recent house purchase. This needed a flexible "suck it and see" approach which they handled superbly, leaving us with a much clearer and lighter plot, after a full week in variable weather. Despite the volume of material they cleared, they always left the site clean and tidy at the end of each working day. During this exercise they discovered a problem with a very large tree, which we called them in to remove later. This was handled with the same calm and relaxed yet professional approach, and the monster was despatched efficiently. We have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Root and Branch."

"I am pleased to recommend Tom McMahon and his colleague for the brilliant job they made of our garden. It needed a lot of work and their knowledge of trees and shrubs, as well as their hard work has made the upkeep much easier. Many thanks to them both."

"Tom McMahon and his team have in the past two weeks felled and removed two ancient and diseased large trees and also two other mature ones (growing in the wrong place) done to my entire satisfaction. Tom set out precisely what needed to be done and it was carried out very efficiently and cheerfully in spite of the appalling weather. I would employ him again."

"Tom McMahon of Root and Branch - South West Tree Services has planned and executed several tree cutting tasks in the Churchyard at St Mellion, two of which were major undertakings. In 2011 Tom cut back and secured all the trees and bushes along the boundary between the church and the adjacent primary school. This had to be undertaken at a time when the pupils were not at school due to the hazardous nature of some of the cutting required. The job was done to the total satisfaction of both the Parochial Church Council and the Governors of the School.
Based upon our satisfaction with his first job, the PCC engaged Tom again to undertake the cutting back of all the trees and bushes overhanging the lengthy driveway running up the side of the churchyard into the school's playing field. This entrance has to be kept clear for vehicular access. The PCC is very pleased with the standard and professionalism of the work that Tom has done. More work will inevitably need to be carried out over time and on an ongoing basis on all the boundaries of the churchyard.
The PCC will have no hesitation in using Tom's expertise again and in recommending him highly to other potential customers."

"I am writing to commend Tom and his colleagues on a job well done. Because a few trees in the grounds of our Care Home needed to be lopped/felled we called in Tom from Root and Branches and were extremely pleased in the way he undertook the work. He was also able to recommend replacement trees having given thought to their location. Although for some of the time, the British weather was against him, the job was completed in record time and the site was left clean and tidy. I would have no hesitation in recommending this firm."
